The first quarter ends tomorrow. My, my, where does the time go?
Report cards will be sent out by Wednesday, which need to be returned on Thursday if your student is getting a 72 C- or lower.
We are moving right along, beginning chapter 5 tomorrow (Tuesday). Please be sure you are studying for the tests and making your "cheat sheet"!
State reports will be returned to you on Tuesday as well. The grades will be on the first page of your report. 50 points is considered full credit on the report, and 50 points on the poster. The grades for both are on the report with the circled grade being your overall, four weight grade.
Keep studying your state signs to be ready for the tests starting next week! You can take it early for 5 points extra credit.
Need help or some tips for studying? I'd love to help you! Email me at misslagasse@gmail.com or see me before class or at nutrition!
God bless you!

Important Dates!
Hello!
Here are some important dates coming up!
Friday, June 20: Progress reports coming home, STATE PROJECT 1 DUE!
Monday, June 23: Notebook Check
Tuesday, June 24: Quarter 1 ends (already!) and report cards go home
Thursday, July 3: End of 1st Semester, Report cards go home
4th of July/Christmas party in class
Friday, July 4: NO SCHOOL, INDEPENDENCE DAY! [Christmas vacation]
>> A note about the Christmas party/vacation: The end of the semester is where we would be at Christmas time in the regular school year, so the class decided to celebrate Christmas in July!
Most everyone is doing well in class. If they aren't, they should be bringing papers home for you to sign and return, so you know how they are doing.
Any questions, concerns? Email me or call.
Thank you, and have a blessed day!

Welcome and supply list
Welcome to U.S. History 8 at Village Christian Schools Summer Program!
I look forward to spending six weeks studying the history of our great nation together! On this blog you will find information about supplies, homework, and updates on work and projects in class. Please be sure to check it weekly.
In six weeks, we will be covering 17 chapters from the textbook, The American Journey, Building a Nation. Assignments will include geography, notes, assignments, projects (group and individual) and some tests.
Attendance: It is essential that you come each day to class, as each day of summer school is considered one week of the regular school year. As per VCS policy, students who miss more than three days in each semester (three weeks) will be dropped from the class without credit. Any questions, please contact me.
Supplies: Here is a list of supplies needed for class:
> 3 ring binder, 1-1 1/2 inch
> 5 tabbed dividers
> lined paper
> pens, pencils, one pen (color other than blue or black) for grading papers
> colored pencils
> 2 pkgs index cards
> 1 pkg. post-it sticky notes
If you have leftover supplies from the past school year, feel free to use them.

I check my email daily, so that is the best way to reach me. I will also return all messages left at the curriculum office for me.
I will be praying for you this summer, so let me know if there is anything you would like me to pray specifically for!
Blessings to you,
Miss Lagasse
